Returns & Refunds Policy

At Generate Canvas, we take pride in the quality of our canvas prints. However, we understand that sometimes things don't work out. This policy outlines our return and refund procedures.

Custom AI-Generated Canvas Prints

Because custom AI-generated prints are made specifically for you based on your photo and specifications, we have the following policy:

No Returns on Custom Prints

Custom AI-generated canvas prints cannot be returned or refunded except in the following cases:

  • Manufacturing Defects: Print quality issues, color errors, or damage during production
  • Shipping Damage: Damaged during transit (must report within 48 hours of delivery)
  • Our Error: Wrong size, wrong image, or other mistakes on our part

Customer Responsibility

Please review your transformed image carefully before ordering. We are not responsible for:

  • AI interpretation differences (how the AI transformed your photo)
  • Color variations due to screen display differences
  • Size selection errors (double-check your canvas size before ordering)
  • Low-resolution source photos resulting in lower print quality

Pre-Made Canvas Prints

Our pre-made collection (space imagery, curated art) has a more flexible return policy:

30-Day Return Window

  • Pre-made prints can be returned within 30 days of delivery
  • Canvas must be in original condition, undamaged, and unused
  • Customer is responsible for return shipping costs
  • Refund issued once we receive and inspect the returned item

Defects and Damage

If your canvas arrives damaged or has a manufacturing defect:

  1. Contact us immediately: Email hello@generatecanvas.com within 48 hours of delivery
  2. Provide photos: Send clear photos showing the defect or damage
  3. Include order number: Reference your order number

We will promptly offer:

  • Free replacement printed and shipped at no cost, or
  • Full refund including original shipping costs

Refund Process

Once your return is received and inspected (for pre-made prints) or we verify a defect/damage claim:

  • Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days
  • Refund will be credited to your original payment method
  • You will receive an email confirmation when the refund is processed
  • Allow 5-10 business days for refund to appear in your account

Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges. If you'd like a different size or product:

  1. Return the original item (if eligible)
  2. Place a new order for the desired item
  3. Once we receive your return, we'll process the refund

Order Cancellations

Before Production: If your order has not yet entered production (status is "Paid"), you may cancel for a full refund. Contact us immediately at hello@generatecanvas.com.

After Production Begins: Once we've begun printing your canvas, the order cannot be cancelled as it is custom-made for you.

Quality Guarantee

We guarantee that your canvas print will be:

  • Printed on premium quality canvas
  • Free from manufacturing defects
  • Securely packaged to prevent damage
  • Inspected for quality before shipping

If we fall short of this guarantee, we will make it right with a replacement or refund.

Lost or Stolen Packages

Once a package is marked as delivered by the shipping carrier, we are not responsible for lost or stolen packages. However, we recommend:

  • Checking with neighbors or building management
  • Verifying the delivery address was correct
  • Filing a claim with the shipping carrier if applicable

We will work with you to resolve the issue and may offer a replacement at a discounted rate.

How to Initiate a Return

  1. Email hello@generatecanvas.com with your order number
  2. Explain the reason for return and provide photos if applicable
  3. Wait for return authorization and instructions
  4. Ship the item back (for pre-made prints only)
  5. Receive your refund once processed
